# $MOXY token

$MOXY is a **utility token** native to the Moxy Platform. Its utility includes the following:

<summary>Regular Game Play and Tournament Fees and Prize Pools</summary>

$MOXY is used as a native token to initiate and participate in on-demand gameplay and tournaments. All players will pay $MOXY as a participation fee to join a Moxy competitive event. All players buy $MOXY from the **open market** either through the Moxy built-in swap widget or external exchanges.

The fees collected in $MOXY will be aggregated into a prize pool, out of which,&#x20;

* **1.0%** will be distributed to [MOXY Foundation](https://moxy-io.gitbook.io/moxy-tokenomics/token-distribution/allocation/moxy-foundation)
* **2.9%** will be burnt into the “[PLAY](https://moxy-io.gitbook.io/moxy-tokenomics/token-mechanism/proof-of-play-mechanism/play)” pool and taken out of circulation
* **6.0**% will be distributed to the game developers, and&#x20;
* **90.1%** will be put into the prize pool that will be distributed to the tournament winners

<summary>Special Tournament Sponsorship</summary>

External brands must pay $MOXY to get sponsorship titles for special tournaments.

For the sponsorship fee received,&#x20;

* **50%** will be allocated to the prize pool,
* **44%** will be burnt into the “[PLAY](https://moxy-io.gitbook.io/moxy-tokenomics/token-mechanism/proof-of-play-mechanism/play)” pool, and
* **6%** of the $MOXY received will be distributed to the relevant game title owner/gaming studio

<summary>Game Publishing &#x26; Promotion</summary>

Game title owner/gaming studios must pay $MOXY to publish their game on the Moxy platform. They may also pay $MOXY to promote their game on the Moxy platform to acquire more players.

The scope of promotion includes but is not limited to the following:

* Pin the game on the top of Moxy’s console
* Create Moxy competitive game modes to facilitate eSport-style gameplay
* Launch targeted email marketing or in-game promotion to all players

For the fee received,

* **50%** of the $MOXY received will be burnt into the “[PLAY](https://moxy-io.gitbook.io/moxy-tokenomics/token-mechanism/proof-of-play-mechanism/play)” pool, and
* **50%** will be distributed to the [MOXY Foundation](https://moxy-io.gitbook.io/moxy-tokenomics/token-distribution/allocation/moxy-foundation)
